Take the plunge at annual Chippewa Lake Polar Bear Jump and Fun Run/Walk on Feb. 3

Take a Dip in the Chip! is the theme for the Chippewa Lake Lions Club Foundation fundraiser.

Chippy, the beloved Polar Bear mascot of the Chippewa Lake Polar Bear Jump, will be the host of the live event Saturday, Feb. 3, at Chippewa Lake Beach, located at the corner of Longacre Lane and Beachside Boulevard.

Participants compete in a previous Chippewa Lake Polar Bear Jump and Fun Run/Walk. The event is scheduled for Feb. 3 this year.

This is the primary fundraising event for the Chippewa Lake Lions Club. Last year’s event raised over $62,000 for charities and needy families in the area.

More than 300 jumpers, runners and walkers are expected to participate. Proceeds are directed to community charitable efforts.

  • 5K Fun Run/Walk and/or Polar Plunge: $50 qualifies for all events; 11-year-old age limit

  • Sponsorships: Categories from $125 to $10,000

  • Charity raffle - $50 per ticket; drawing on Feb 19. First prize is $3,000; second prize, $1,500; third prize, $500.

  • After party at the Village Inn: Continuing the tradition of the best party of the year.

  • 50/50 raffle at the Village Inn

The 2023 Charity recipients were Society of Handicap Citizens, Cross Pointe Community Church - Monthly Meal Program, Church at the Lake – Food Pantry, Lafayette Township Fire Department Association, Chippewa Lake Waterski Show Team, many families in need and support programs in the area.
