Who will be playing for USWNT at Lower.com Field? 2024 SheBelieves Cup roster revealed
With the SheBelieves Cup set to take place in less than a month, the United States women's national soccer team has announced the roster that will play at Lower.com Field on April 9.
One of the biggest highlights of the 23-player roster is forward Mallary Swanson, who will be making her first appearance in national team play since a knee injury in April 2023. Fellow forward Catarina Macario is also making her return to international action following a knee injury.
Nineteen of the players who made the roster for the SheBelieves Cup were part of the championship CONCACAF W Gold Cup team, including Lindsay Horan, Alex Morgan and tournament MVP Jaedyn Shaw.
A noticeable name missing from the roster is Ohio-native Rose Lavelle. A longtime USWNT member, Lavelle has been missing from NWSL action with NJ/NY Gotham FC since March 10 with undisclosed injury.
The SheBelieves Cup is a four-team tournament. Along with USWNT, the nations that will be represented this year are Canada, Brazil and Japan.
The USWNT will face Japan in a semifinal in Atlanta on April 7. The winner of that match will take on the winner of Canada-Brazil in the championship at Lower.com Field on April 9, with the other two teams taking part in a third-place match.
The USWNT will play at 7 p.m. no matter the outcome in the semifinals.
