Which players have the Cowboys talked to at the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine?

The 2023 NFL Scouting Combine has officially commenced and teams are evaluating which players they’ll bring into their organization.

The Dallas Cowboys have six picks in the 2023 NFL draft with a projected three compensatory picks according to overthecap.com.

Draft experts have the Cowboys going in every possible direction with their first-round picks from cornerbacks like Joey Porter Jr, running back Bijan Robinson or linebacker Drew Sanders.

The Cowboys have been down at the combine interviewing players to see who fits their needs and team the best. Here are the players the Cowboys have interviewed so far.

CB Joey Porter Jr, Penn State

One of the highest-rated cornerbacks in the draft, Porter Jr is the son of Pittsburgh Steelers legend Joey Porter. The former Nittany Lion is known as a physical corner using his size and length to disrupt receivers. Porter Jr has been mocked as an early-mid first-round draft pick.

DE Derick Hall, Auburn

A powerful edge rusher with a relentless motor who was a captain for the Auburn Tigers in 2022. Hall is expected to be a late first-round or second-round pick.

LB Demarvion Overshown, Texas

A Texas native Overshown went to Arp High School before attending the University of Texas where he switched positions from safety to linebacker. Overshown combines good speed with great size and projects to be a fourth-round draft pick.

LB Daiyon Henley, Washington State

A former wide receiver at Nevada converted into a linebacker at Washington State, Henley is raw with loads of athletics and upside. Henley recorded the second most tackles in the Pac-12 during the 2022 season and currently projects as a second or third-round pick.

CB Mekhi Garner, LSU

Garner transferred to LSU from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and started all 13 games. Garner has good length for the position and has shown a propensity for the big hit. Garner is currently slated to be approximately a 4th round pick.

DB Jay Ward, LSU

A versatile defensive back who played nickel, outside cornerback and safety. Ward has good size for the position and displayed good ball skills. Ward has been projected as high as the third round and as low as the fifth round.

S Trey Dean, Florida

A physical safety that likes to tackle and deliver big hits with solid ball skills, Dean is projected to go anywhere from the fourth to the seventh round.

CB Myles Brooks, Louisiana Tech

A long and explosive athlete in 2022 Brooks had 29 tackles, three interceptions and eight passed defended in his junior season. Brooks is projected to go from the third to the sixth round.

DE Felix Anudike-Uzomah, Kansas State

A wildly strong edge rusher that plays bigger than his already large frame Anudike-Uzomah looks to overpower linemen with his strength and size. Anudike-Uzomah is projected from the late first to the second round

DE Byron Young, Alabama

Young had 27 tackles and 3.5 sacks as a senior for the Crimson Tide to go along with good run-stopping ability. Young is projected from the fourth through sixth rounds.

CB Emmanuel Forbes, Mississippi State

Forbes is an explosive ball hawk with 14 interceptions over his past three seasons with the Bulldogs Forbes has received a late first or second-round grade depending on the mock draft.

RB Israel Abanikanda, Unvieristy of Pittsburgh

Abanikanda burst onto the scene for the Pitt Panthers in 2022 rushing for 1431 yards with 20 touchdowns in his junior season. Abanikanda has good size and burst for the position and is projected as a fourth-round draft pick.

S JL Skinner, Boise State

Skinner is suffering from a torn pectoral that occurred stemming from working out which will sideline him from the combine drills. Skinner has prototypical size for the position being listed at 6-foot-4 inches tall and weighing 220 pounds alongside a 77-inch wingspan
