The National Weather Service warns that this late-April freeze may kill sensitive vegetation or damage outdoor plumbing. It is recommended to protect tender plants by covering them with a blanket, sheet or row cover to trap in heat for the night, while outdoor water pipes and in-ground sprinkler systems should be wrapped, drained or allowed to drip slowly to prevent from freezing and bursting.
