Pizza Hut debuts 'streetwear' collection with gold chain, track suit

Pizza Hut (YUM) is betting that die-hard fans' appetite for pizza will extend to stylish clothes and specialty bling.

Joining the likes of Popeye's and Dunkin' Donuts in selling branded merchandise, the chain on Tuesday unveiled a new streetwear collection.

Dubbed the 'Tastewear' line, the limited-edition items dropped Tuesday on PizzaHutShop.com. Seemingly inspired by the Pizza Hut red roof, checkered tablecloths and Tiffany-style lamps, the items for sale include a track suit, slides, a chain necklace, T-shirt and set of four red cups.

In the release, Pizza Hut said the restaurant chain hopes fans will "show off their pizza love" through the streetwear, proudly displaying the "thoughtfully crafted" clothes.

However, customers may have to have to dip into their wallets if they want to purchase a piece of this collection.

The track suit alone retails for $99.99, the pizza slides are $24.99, the gold-colored chain, which features a pepperoni slice, is $19.99, the t-shirt featuring its staple, checkered lamp is $15.99, while the set of our four cups retail for $9.99.

The collection is available nationwide, but only while supplies last.

Pizza Hut is not the first fast food giant to dabble in the retail industry.

In recent months, Popeyes (QSR), Red Lobster, Dunkin' and Outback (BLMN) debuted fast food "fits" that took social media by storm, often selling out within minutes.

And in March, Chipotle (CMG) and e.l.f. Beauty (ELF) collaborated to bring a makeup collection to customers, dubbed 'e.l.f x Chipotle." It included eyeshadow, lip gloss, an Extra Guac Sponge Set and a Eyes Chips Face Makeup Bag, selling out within minutes online only.
