Pit bull terrier Pear and her friends seek adoption from the Beaver County Humane Society

(Dog of The Week is a regular feature by the Beaver County Humane Society seeking forever homes for adorable dogs.)

Good morning, friends. My name is Pear. Like the fruit, but I'm not a fruit. I'm a spayed female, white and black Pit Bull Terrier mix.

The shelter staff think I am about 1 year and 8 months old. I weigh 48 pounds. I've been at the shelter since February.

I am a sweetheart to the core and ready to find a family to call my own. I love to go on walks and I have the best leash manners, too. I am wiggly and snuggly, always jumping up to give kisses and hugs to friends, both old and new. I am very outgoing and super friendly.

I am currently in foster. This is what my foster mama had to say about me:

“She is doing great and enjoying being a house dog. She is house-trained, non-destructive, non-possessive, and easygoing. She is now also behaving well while socializing with other dogs and people. We take her to parks and let her meet and play with different dogs and people in a controlled environment, and she is perfect. She has not shown any sign of aggression towards anything so far. She has also improved in responding to commands, and her name calls. We believe she will do fine in any home environment with or without dogs and kids (we cannot observe her with cats).”

See? I'm a great doggie, just looking for the right family to call my own. Please call the shelter if you'd like to meet me. Since I am in foster, they would need to set up the meeting, but I'm worth it. Trust me. I know I'm the perfect dog for someone. Who knows? Maybe that "someone" is you.
