Matthews currently works in finance, as the chief executive of Eden Rock Capital Management Group, a hedge fund that he reportedly launched more than 10 years ago. Previously, he was also a competitive racer, having won a record-breaking 11 rounds leading up to the British Formula Renault Championship title for Manor Motorsport in 1994. (He additionally won the Eurocup Formula Renault later the same year.)
The financier's parents, David and Jane Matthews, are in the hotel business. They own the luxurious Eden Rock Hotel in St Barths, where Matthews and Middleton first met.
Meanwhile, his brother, Spencer Matthews, is a reality television personality. He's best-known for starring on Made in Chelsea, which follows the affluent lives of wealthy British twenty-somethings.
