Most people aren't considered a producing prodigy at the age of 22. Then again, most people aren't PinkPantheress.

The British-born music sensation (born Victoria Beverley Walker) took over TikTok two years back with her infectious and playful dance music she produced from her bedroom while she was still a teen. Since then, her tracks such as "I Must Apologize" and "Boy's A Liar" with Bronx-rapper Ice Spice haven't only become viral hits—they have also come to symbolize the infinite potential of Gen-Z's creative mindset.

Much like her diaristic approach to her music, PinkPantheress's personal style is inherently authentic, which has landed her starring roles in fashion campaigns from Heaven for Marc Jacobs to a new photoshoot for Kim Kardashian's cult-favorite shapewear brand SKIMS. Along with her affinity for vintage midi skirts and low rise jeans, PinkPantheress's defining style signature has become her array of mini shoulder bags that she wears not just in between recording sessions, but famously onstage as well. For the Vanessa Beecroft-lensed SKIMS campaign, however, the singer and producer sports a brown bodysuit from the brand's upcoming Everyday Sculpt Collection. We can't help but think Kardashian's eldest daughter North West had a hand in selecting PinkPantheress for the campaign—West often soundtracks her collaborative TikToks with her mom to the artist's most popular songs.

Below, we spoke with PinkPantheress about how she styles her SKIMS, being deemed an up-and-coming icon alongside Ice Spice, Raye, and Nessa Barrett, and what fans can expect from the star next.

Congratulations on your first SKIMS campaign! How does it feel to be the latest face for the brand?

It feels super fun and fire.

You’re featured in an amazing group of women alongside Ice Spice, RAYE, and Nessa Barrett as next-gen icons. Does it ever feel weird to be called an up-and-coming icon? Do you see yourself that way at all?

I wouldn’t refer to myself as anything, as I don’t think it makes sense for anyone but the general public to decide that for me. But it is the highest compliment to receive, in my opinion. It does feel weird sometimes, of course, especially as the word means a lot of things.

How did it feel being on set for the campaign? You’ve done fashion campaigns before, of course, but fronting shapewear and lingerie is a different level.

I felt nervous and shy. I don’t like full displays of my body so it was something I was conscious of the whole time. It was super fun, a fantastic opportunity. I’m so glad the pictures came out great because I don’t know when I’ll be able to do something like this again.

How do you incorporate SKIMS into your personal style? You have such a unique sense of self that I think really complements your music and overall aesthetic.

I would wear it underneath my outfits, ha. I also love the catsuit and the leggings under a mini skirt. I’ve tried it—it looks sick to me.

Who inspires you in a fashion sense and musical sense? Is there any overlap?

I think a lot of people. My mum inspired my style, Twilight and Harry Potter inspire me a lot, weirdly. Horror films like Saw, and My Chemical Romance for sure. A lot of pop too, Lily Allen, Craig David...too many to count.

You noticeably did NOT have your signature purse by your side for this photo shoot. How did that feel?

I don’t think I was physically able to have it with me even if I wanted to, lol. But it felt good, the bag is there in case I need anything urgently, or to complete an outfit, but luckily it was on set and not far away.

Your latest song with Ice Spice is such a viral hit and your fans are eagerly awaiting new music. Can you tell us anything about what you have in the works musically right now?

Yes, she’s amazing for that verse. I’m on the way towards an album.
