Pierce Brosnan's new movie Fast Charlie has debuted with an impressive 100% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The James Bond actor takes on the role of a fixer in the new Phillip Noyce film, who finds he has a problem on his hands when the man he's whacked is missing his head.

Charlie will only be paid if the body can be identified, and so he needs the help of his victim's ex-wife.

Going by the first reviews, Fast Charlie looks to be a winner, with praise going towards Brosnan as well as the movie's storyline.

Here's what the critics have been saying:

The Hollywood Reporter

"We’ve seen plenty of cinematic aging hitmen looking to retire to a more peaceful life before, but thanks to Brosnan’s ageless charm and a subtly rendered love story underpinning the proceedings, we’ve never rooted for one quite as much."

Deadline

"Rasty and nasty with a cherry on top, Fast Charlie is a down-home Southern gangster yarn with a staggering body count but a sweet taste awaiting the survivors at the end of the day."

Variety

"Fast Charlie is a modest genre movie, and that’s what’s good about it."

Movies in Focus

"Master-craftsman Phillip Noyce has built a well-constructed revenge thriller around star Pierce Brosnan. Anyone looking for a good old-fashioned thriller will have to search far and wide for one that works better than Fast Charlie."

Blu-ray.com

"Fast Charlie doesn’t jump off the screen, but it’s an engaging ride with morally dubious people trying to figure out a future that isn’t guaranteed."

Fast Charlie is released in US cinemas on December 8. A UK release date is yet to be confirmed.
