Picturesque ranch for sale in South Dakota comes with 1,800 large occupants. See it

Gamesmen and nature lovers rejoice — a scenic property has landed on the real estate market outside Rapid City, South Dakota, that is both “aesthetically pleasing” and one of the most notable grass ranches in the state.

Oh, and the 26,000-plus acres ranch also has something special: 1,800 bison.

It’s listed for $31.7 million.

“The ranch has been carefully handled and managed holistically, being a recipient of numerous conservation awards,” the listing on Hall and Hall says.

“The ranch is a cross-section of well-sodded plains and just enough ‘Badlands’ to give the property a wild feel and be aesthetically pleasing. Currently stocked with 1,800 bison, the ranch is well-fenced, adequately watered, and operated efficiently. Designed and built to handle bison, the ranch should be an easy and smooth transition to a cattle operation if one is inclined.”

The land has three homes split between each end of the ranch: the five-bedroom, five-bathroom owner’s ranch; a second home built in 2015; and an employee compound that was remodeled in 2014.

There are also plenty of another animals that roam the property including:

  • Mule deer

  • Whitetail

  • Antelope

  • Turkey

  • Waterfowl

The listing is held by Mike Fraley.
