Dec. 5, 1941: Residents of Keller turned firefighters when a grass fire started a blaze that destroyed a lumber yard, beauty shop and hardware store. While they waited for a water hose to be brought from Roanoke, Texas, seven miles away, the volunteer firemen removed merchandise from the hardware store.
