A total of 24 celebrities will participate in the 2024 BMW Charity Pro-Am, presented by TD SYNNEX. The golf tournament, held June 3 - 9, will bring professional athletes, actors, musicians, and golf influencers to the Upstate for a series of special events with $1 million at stake.

Five new celebrity guests were announced on Thursday, May 9, as first-time attendees of the Upstate golf tournament, which is expected to bring 50,000 visitors to the area.

The Board of Directors and Tournament Officials of the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX announced the 2024 celebrity lineup as well as special events for this year’s tournament. The BMW Charity Pro-Am will take place June 3-9 at Thornblade Club in Greer and The Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg. Max Metcalf, vice president South Carolina Charities Board of Directors, talks about the tournament coming to the Upstate.

Former NFL players wide receiver Brice Butler and quarterbacks Vince Young and Ryan Leaf will be first-time tournament guests at the Thornblade Club in Greer and The Country Club in Spartanburg. Joining the footballers are American Idol winner Phillip Phillips and golf social media influencer Roger Steele.

"Here in the Upstate, we love golf, we love what we have for our surroundings and quality of life, and giving back is such a big part of the community," said Max Metcalf, board vice president for South Carolina Charities, Inc. and manager for government and community relations with BMW Manufacturing.

"This year SC Charities wanted to recognize BMW's 30th year of assembling vehicles in the Upstate. We've added a few new feature charities and we've added in some new celebrities, knowing that they want to come here."

According to Metcalf, the tournament has raised around $16 million for numerous Upstate non-profit organizations over the charity pro-am event's history. Their contribution is part of the PGA Tour's $3 billion raised for charity.
