PGA Tour veteran Louis Oosthuizen will not take the course for his second round at the 2022 Masters.

The 39-year-old South African has officially withdrawn from the historic tournament due to an unspecified injury, The Masters announced on Friday afternoon.

At times during his first round, Oosthuizen was seen grabbing at his lower back. However, there was no official injury included in the announcement from the Masters.

Oosthuizen struggled in his opening round on Thursday, notching a 4-over score with two double-bogeys, three bogeys and three birdies.

His first-round struggles were highly-publicized as he took the course in a group with international golf superstar Tiger Woods and current third-place leader Joaquin Niemann (-3). He was set to tee off with this same group at 1:41 p.m. ET this afternoon.

Woods, who finished his Round 1 with a solid 1-under 71, will now take the course in a pairing with just Niemann.
