PGA betting: Let's back a big hitter at the AT&T Byron Nelson

The PGA is back in Texas for the AT&T Byron Nelson event at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney. The course is nearly 7,500 yards, but the fairways are wide open, potentially giving those who can bomb it off the tee an upper hand.

Jhonattan Vegas (-120) against Jason Kokrak

Vegas is a great player to back in a head-to-head matchup in this event because you don’t need to be accurate off the tee with this layout, but it can definitely help if you can knock it long. Vegas not only has the edge in driving distance but also with his iron play, ranking fourth in the field for strokes gained approach in the last 24 rounds. In the last tournament Vegas played, he gained 10 strokes on his approach shots in the Wells Fargo Championship, and before that he gained five strokes at the Valspar.

Vegas also ranks 11th in the field for strokes gained total over the last 24 rounds, having played some really good and — most importantly —consistent golf. Since missing the cut in The Players Championship in March, Vegas has played in four events, finishing in the top 10 in three, including a T18 in another Texas tournament, the Valero Texas Open.
