Petoskey Audubon presents 'Scarlet Macaw' program on Feb. 13

PETOSKEY — The Petoskey Regional Audubon Society will welcome Gary Palmer for a presentation titled "Three Months at the Breeding Center and Wild Scarlet Macaw Reserve" on Feb. 13.

Palmer spent three months volunteering for the Breeding Center and Wild Scarlet Macaw Reserve located in Punta Islita, Costa Rica. The purpose of the center is to breed birds for release to help restore the wild population. During his time there, Palmer got to help release a captive bred flock of 12 macaws into the wild.

The program will be presented at 7 p.m. on Zoom. The program is free and open to all interested people.

People interested in viewing the program are asked to email lisahoyt@chartermi.net by 5 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 12 to receive the registration link.
