Peter Pan & Wendy director David Lowery has responded to the backlash directed at the movie after it was revealed that the adaptation's version of the Lost Boys will include girls.

Some sections of the internet have criticised the Disney movie for this, with some people even threatening to boycott the movie. But Lowery has defended the decision and pushed back against the criticism.

"Movies should be for everybody. And it doesn’t change the movie at all. It’s the same story everyone grew up with. To each their own, but it’s their loss, they’re going to miss out on a great movie-going experience," Lowery told SFX Magazine.
