With the 2021 season now over, Seattle Seahawks fans can fully shift their focus to quarterback Russell Wilson’s future with the team.

Wilson is still under contract for the next two seasons, but was the subject of swirling trade rumors last offseason which have carried over through this year. After a decade in the Pacific Northwest, some analysts believe Wilson will be playing elsewhere in 2022.

Time will tell if that is the case, but for now, head coach Pete Carroll is saying he expects Wilson back with the Seahawks next fall.

Carroll said as much in an appearance on ESPN 710 today.

For the first time since 2011, the Seahawks finished with a losing record. They also missed the playoffs for the first time in 2017.

Fortunately, that extra time off in early and mid-January could give the franchise some time to work through important things like Wilson and Carroll’s relationship, the organizational vision for the future and more.
