Pedestrian dies after fatal incident in Devon
A woman has died after an incident in Devon, police have said.
Devon and Cornwall Police said officers were "in attendance at a fatal incident involving a pedestrian" at a section of the A38 at Chudleigh Knighton.
The ambulance and fire services were also at the scene, police said.
The road has been closed in both directions.
Police said: "A woman has been reported to have died. Her next of kin have been informed.
"The road has been closed in both directions and is likely to remain so for some time. Road users are advised to seek alternative routes.
"Inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances."
Officers have not said if a vehicle was involved.
