After hours of debate and deliberations, we've made some decisions.
Here are the 2024 Rockland Journal News All-County teams picked based on their impact on this past high school season. Nominations were sent in by coaches and statistics were reviewed, along with strength of competition. Team success was a major factor, as well.
These are the names we landed on:

Player of the Year
Aidan McCahey
School: Pearl River
Year: Senior
Position: Guard
Highlights: McCahey inherited the go-to role and ran with it, leading the Pirates to a 19-4 season that ended at the Westchester County Center with a loss to Byram Hills in a Section 1 Class B semifinal. ... He averaged 20 points, three rebounds and four assists. ... Pearl River's second-leading scorer averaged eight points, so the pressure to produce each game was high. ... McCahey shot 39 percent from behind the arc and was named all-section and all-conference.

School: North Rockland
Year: Senior
Position: Forward
Highlights: Barclay was a matchup problem who created time and space wherever he wanted. ... He averaged 13 points and eight rebounds for the Red Raiders, who compiled a 15-6 record. ... Barclay was all-section and all-conference.
Raydelh Boutin
School: Nyack
Year: Senior
Position: Guard
Highlights: Boutin typically forced opposing defenses to help early and still found a path to the rim. ... He delivered 18 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. ... Boutin was named all-section and all-conference.
Colin Holder
School: Clarkstown South
Year: Senior
Position: Guard
Highlights: Holder was a catalyst on both ends of the floor. ... He led the Vikings to a 10-10 season, averaging 13.5 points per game. ... Holder was all-section and all-conference.
Jake Pampolina
School: Suffern
Year: Sophomore
Position: Guard
Highlights: Pampolina expanded his repertoire and became a multi-level scorer. ... He propelled Suffern to the Section 1 Class AA title game and led the county with 23 points per game. ... Pampolina was named all-section and all-conference.
Coach of the Year
Scott Wright, Suffern
Start to finish, the Mounties were arguably the most improved team in Section 1. Suffern went 7-1 down the stretch, earned a County Center bid and fell to Peekskill in the Class AA championship game.
