Peaky Blinders actor Daryl McCormack is keen to return as Isaiah Jesus for the planned movie continuation.

After brushing shoulders with the Shelby family in the BBC drama sensation (and surviving), it'd be no surprise to see McCormack back beneath a flat cap when the cameras start rolling – but apparently, there's been no word from creator Steven Knight yet about whether Isaiah would be involved in the movie.

"It's something I haven't actually heard about. I've been asked multiple times but I've yet to hear any news with regards to that," McCormack told RadioTimes ahead of this weekend's BAFTA Film Awards, where he's nominated in the EE Rising Star category alongside the likes of Emma Mackey and Naomi Ackie.

McCormack also admitted that being cast in the series itself had been a "great" experience for him.

"I was so grateful to be able to be involved in such an iconic show before it finished. And to come back for a second season as well really made me feel like I could really own my part within it," he said.

"It was really fun and it's really formative for me, growing in confidence to step onto a bigger show and to be able to hold my own within it, but they were so welcoming and amazing.

"And I love dressing up as a gangster playing boys being unruly and stuff. It's very simple, it does kind of tap into your inner boy!"

In other news, Peaky Blinders mastermind Knight has revealed that the jump to the big screen entails a "very specific story" inspired by true events from World War II.

Peaky Blinders is available to stream on BBC iPlayer and Netflix.
