While fans of Steven Knight's Birmingham bad boys eagerly await more news on the upcoming Peaky Blinders film, the show's creator is diving back into the world of period dramas—and he's teaming up with a familiar face to do it.

Knight and actor Stephen Graham (Peaky Blinders fans will remember as Hayden Stagg, who went toe-to-toe with Tommy over opium in the show's sixth season) are reuniting for a new drama set in Victorian London's illegal boxing scene.

In addition to executive producing, Graham will reportedly have a starring role on the series in a turn that sounds poised to make him the antagonist of the series. Per Deadline, "The drama follows the fortunes of Hezekiah and Alec, two best friends newly arrived from Jamaica. Fighting for survival in the violent melting pot of Victorian London’s East End, they come up against Sugar Goodson, a dangerous, veteran boxer played by Graham."

Knight will serve as lead writer for the series, though unlike Peaky, he won't be the only writer for the show's 12-episode run.

"I’m really thrilled to be working on this project with Stephen as well as the very talented production team and group of writers," he said. "I always love to delve into untold history, and this is a story that really deserves to be told."

While no official timeline has been announced for when the show could debut, it's reportedly in development globally for Disney+ and for Hulu in the US.
