Peacemaker is coming to Mortal Kombat 1, and we now know how he’ll play in the game. NetherRealm Studios has released a new gameplay trailer featuring the DC anti-hero, voiced by and based on the likeness of John Cena.

Peacemaker is the second DLC character for the game, arriving just a few months after Omni-Man (Invincible). The character will be available in early access for those who own either the Kombat Pack or the Premium Edition of the game, starting February 28. As for others, the character will become widely available on March 6. The trailer also includes a first look at Janet Cage, an alternate version of Johnny Cage who will be a Kameo fighter.

Peacemaker’s moveset includes many abilities that were in the show as well as The Suicide Squad. Yes, you can use Eagley to knock off opponents and use the helmet for the “human torpedo” move. You’ll also be able to take the fight into the air with his anti-gravity boots and finish off enemies with the Sonic Boom attack directly lifted from the show.

Peacemaker is ready to challenge Liu Kang’s New Era of peace and is equipped with a formidable moveset incorporating the character’s expert gunslinging skills, signature helmet abilities, and loyal bald eagle sidekick, Eagly, all complemented by his legendary dance moves and brash humor,” reads the character’s description from WB Games.

NetherRealm Studios has also announced that cross-play support will be added on February 28, allowing players on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S to fight against each other. Given the sacrifices made to the Nintendo Switch version of the game, it's probably a good idea to exclude that from the "Krossplay" functionality.

If that interests you, try the game for free from March 7-10 on PS5 and Xbox consoles. The free trial will include access to the base roster of fighters, all online modes, Towers, Johnny Cage’s Invasions, and the first 2 chapters of the story.
