Paul DelVecchio, aka DJ Pauly D, may be a former reality TV star with a flourishing DJ career, but at the end of the day, he's like any other dad: concerned with which apps his young daughter can access on the Internet.

"She does have a cell phone now," the DJ tells PEOPLE of daughter Amabella, who turns 11 next month. "She got the iPhone 15 for Christmas, so that was a big deal. And it's good for me because I can talk to her all the time, especially when I'm traveling."

However, he says he and Amabella's mom Amanda Markert make sure there are rules in place when it comes to her cell phone usage.

"She has rules with the phone. She gets it taken away if her grades aren't good, and stuff like that," he says.

Another major restriction? No TikTok — not yet, anyway.

"She's not allowed to have TikTok. She's too young," he says.

He adds, "She does do the kids YouTube though, and I don't know, I feel like that's basically TikTok anyway. They do all the dances."

The 43-year-old, who welcomed his only daughter in May 2013, says one thing is clear and that is that he absolutely loves being a dad.

“It’s the first time I ever loved something and somebody more than I love myself,” he said on the reality show Double Shot at Love in 2023. “That girl is my everything and there’s two most important ladies in my life: my mother, and my daughter.”

DelVecchio, who also recently opened up to PEOPLE about his new partnership with Thayers Blemish Clearing Toner, joked about how his daughter is too young for TikTok, but not for skincare.

"She's obsessed," he says, adding that her recent Easter basket was full of Sephora products. "When I was her age, I didn't know what any of that stuff was!"

Despite Amabella's love of skincare, he says he's currently stuck on trying to figure out her upcoming birthday theme.

"It's tough to find a theme for an 11-year-old girl!" he says with a laugh, lamenting that she's too old for some of the things she used to love, like slime. "But she loves the Sugar Factory, so we'll probably have it there. But I'm still trying to figure out a theme."

One potential option? DJ themed!

DelVecchio has said in the past that Amabella is his “little mini-me,” and told PEOPLE in April 2018 that his daughter wants to follow in his footsteps and have a music career.

“I got her a DJ room,” he said. “She’s scratching records already. She’s so funny. She just wants to follow me around and do every single thing that I do.”
