Paul Rudd and Finn Wolfhard felt like "imposters" on Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire
Paul Rudd and Finn Wolfhard have remarked that they felt like “imposters” during filming for Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.
The fifth film in the franchise, a sequel to 2021’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife, follows Gary Grooberson (Rudd) and the Spengler family as they team up with the original members of the Ghostbusters team to stop a chilling threat in New York City.
The latest entry sees both generations of Ghostbusters combine as Bill Murray and Dan Ackroyd have larger roles, a fact which Rudd and Wolfhard spoke exclusively to Digital Spy about.

"You can never get used to that,” said Rudd. "It's a thrill, obviously, but it's a bit strange to just be in the room [with them]. It's strange to have the suit on, all that stuff, and we feel like imposters anyway, but to look over and go, 'There they are' and we can see them in suits.
"They're the greatest. They were so sweet to us and it was fun to hear their stories and talk about what it was like to film the original, and then also seeing them see props and things in the firehouse for the first time. It was a cool thing to witness."
Stranger Things star Wolfhard, who plays Trevor Spengler in the series, echoed the sentiments of his co-star, remarking: "It immediately reinforces to us that we're imposters."

While Rudd and Wolfhard seemed somewhat overawed by their experience, comedian James Acaster expressed his excitement about joining the franchise as Lars Pinfield earlier this month.
"I mean, it feels too big to comprehend a lot of the time," he said. "I've loved Ghostbusters since I can remember, had the backpack, lunchbox, and watched the cartoons all the time, so it feels like you're stepping into something that's always been a part of your life. Maybe when I watch this [film] it'll sink in a bit more."
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is out now in cinemas.
