Kal Wilson, the 17-year-old son of actors Patrick Wilson and Dagmara Domińczyk, is gearing up to take the modeling industry by storm.

The high school senior and football star is set to attend college in the fall, but that hasn’t stopped him from chasing his fashion dreams. Kal has signed with DT Model Management in Los Angeles, the same agency that has represented an impressive roster of fellow celebrity offspring like Dylan Penn, Ireland Baldwin and Paris Hilton.

Kall will be a part of the agency’s men’s division, which currently represents many of today’s top male models, including Christian Hogue, Michael Yerger and Australian rugby star Nick Youngquest.

“The first time I saw Kal, he was standing on the red carpet with his parents,” David Todd, President of DT Model Management, says in a statement shared with PEOPLE. “I was immediately struck by his resemblance to a fresh-faced River Phoenix. After meeting with Kal, I was won over by his charm and charisma that I found to be similar to that of his father, Patrick.”

The young star, who was recruited to play football for Bowdoin College in Maine, plans to pursue both his degree and his modeling career, his longtime interest in fashion and streetwear a driving force.

“In middle and elementary school, I was obsessed with streetwear brands like Supreme and Bape,” Kal says in a statement. The burgeoning talent hopes to work with brands like Varvatos, All Saints, Rag and Bone, Palace, Maharishi and MISBHV.

Kal also feels prepared to work on modeling sets thanks to his experience appearing in movies such as Insidious: The Red Door and Let's Kill Ward's Wife alongside his father.

“There’s no pressure on set as actors can shoot the same scene multiple times,” Kal says. “I find the process is the same with fashion shoots.”

The teen’s famous parents are bursting with pride for their son.

“We’re so excited for Kal to embark on this journey,” says Kal’s mother, Succession star Dagmara Domińczyk, says in an exclusive statement. “He’s got the heart, the brains - and maybe we’re biased - but he’s also got the beauty."

His father Patrick adds: "From football player to fashion model, we are so proud of Kal for continuing to carve out his own path.”

Patrick and Domińczyk tied the knot in 2005 and share two sons, Kal and Kassius.

In 2006, the couple worked together on the film Running With Scissors, an adaptation of an Augusten Burroughs memoir.
