Patrick Mahomes Shares How Travis Kelce Has Changed Since Taylor Swift Romance

Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes

Patrick Mahomes is giving fans some insight on his good pal Travis Kelce, who has become the talk of the town recently since sparking up a romance with pop superstar Taylor Swift.

Mahomes, Kelce's teammate on the Kansas City Chiefs, recently shared how the tight end has changed since his highly-publicized relationship with Swift—but according to the all-star quarterback, his friend is just the same as he's always been.

"He's just been himself the whole time," Mahomes, 28, told reporters during a press conference on Wednesday, Jan. 24, insisting that the fame hasn't gone to Kelce's head. "He's still Travis Kelce."

Even before his whirlwind romance with the "Cruel Summer" songstress, Kelce, 34, was on his way to becoming a star, both on and off the football field.

Kelce, a two-time Super Bowl winner, also hosts the successful sports podcast New Heights with older brother and Eagles player Jason Kelce, and in March 2023, he landed a hosting gig on Saturday Night Live. Plus, we know the Chiefs' star player is also featured in a multitude of TV commercials, including ads for Pfizer, Campbell's, DirectTV and more.

But through it all, Mahomes said his friend has always stayed grounded.

"He still will walk through the stadium and treat every single person like they’re his best friend," Mahomes added. "And he’s going to be like that in the locker room every single day."

That could be why Kelce and Swift, 34, get along so well, as the 12-time Grammy winner is also known for being kind and humble in real life, despite her monumental level of fame.

Just this week, after Swift attended the Chiefs game against the Buffalo Bills, an employee at Highmark Stadium confirmed the singer is a "sweetie pie" in person, describing her as "very down to earth" after a wholesome interaction with the musician.
