Pat Paterson Day 1 Roundup: Comets and Rangers to square off for Pool A titles

Ranger Brady Kling receives the inbound pass.

HILLSDALE — A conference change couldn't keep Jonesville and Reading from squaring off once during this basketball season.

More: How Hillsdale basketball turned corner this winter after recent struggles

For the second year in a row, the Comet and Rangers boys and girls basketball teams will compete for the Pool A championships at the Pat Paterson tournament.

The Comet boys and girls teams defeated Hillsdale Academy in round one to reach the finals. The Rangers defeated Pool A newcomers Pittsford in both of their round one matchups to earn their finals bids.

The Comet girls are looking to defend their 2022 title against the Rangers. The Ranger boys basketball team is looking for their fourth Pat Paterson title in a row.

It's safe to say both games will be close. We predict the Ranger girls basketball team to triumph for a Pat Paterson title and for the Comet boys basketball team to end the Ranger's reign of dominance.
