Passaic Board of Education incumbents prevail in school board race with low turnout

The city of Passaic is one of the last dozen or so districts that still holds April school board elections. This year eight candidates came forward to vie for three open three-year term seats.

After the polls closed at 8 p.m. Tuesday, all three of the incumbents, Luis "Danny" Rodriguez, Judith Sanchez and and Ronald Van Rensalier were reelected handily.

"This win is not just a victory for us but for the entire City of Passaic. We will continue to prioritize education and uplift the people of Passaic, ensuring a brighter future for all," Rodriguez said, "Tonight we celebrate and tomorrow  get back to work. With many initiatives and a new high school being built there is much to do."
