‘Party in the U.S.A.’ by Miley Cyrus charts anew as Joe Biden captures White House

They’re making “Party in the U.S.A.” great again.

The 2009 rip-roaring party anthem released by Miley Cyrus in the first summer of Barack Obama’s presidency made it back on the music charts Saturday as exultant Democrats celebrated Joe Biden’s clinch of the presidential race.

From the White House to brownstone Brooklyn, Cyrus’ song poured into streets after the repudiation of President Trump, whose loss was called by news outlets late in the morning of a warm, sun-splashed day across much of America.

By 6 p.m., the tune had soared into the top 40 songs on the U.S. iTunes chart.

Mask-clad revelers in Times Square waved their arms, held up American flags and belted out lyrics, according to video of a Midtown scene posted to social media.

“So I put my hands up, they’re playing my song, the butterflies fly away,” they belted. “Nodding my head like yeah. Moving my hips like yeah.”

From her Twitter account, Cyrus cheered on the celebrations.

“Now THIS is a PARTY IN THE USA!” chirped Cyrus, 27, posting a video of the song playing over clips of Biden nodding and Kamala Harris, his running mate, dancing.

The pop star also retweeted multiple clips of people partying while listening to “Party in the U.S.A.”

The song joined several others that scored impromptu festivities around New York City, including “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye” by Steam, which provided another popular choice for Trump’s outro music.
