To participate, residents should place items on their boulevards starting April 20-21

The City of Watertown is thrilled to announce the return of Annual Citywide Cleanup Week, which will kick off on Monday, April 22, and continue through Thursday, April 25.To participate in this community-wide initiative, residents are required to place items on their boulevards starting on Saturday and Sunday, April 20-21 to ensure collection during Clean-Up Week.Please note that the city will not return to an area, emphasizing the importance of timely placement of items. Residents are kindly reminded not to set out items prior to Saturday, April 20 as this is a violation of city ordinance. Additionally, items should be sorted into two piles:

  • Metal Pile — This includes washers-dryers, stoves-ranges, water heaters-softeners, furnaces, bikes, lawn mowers, tillers, snow blowers, microwaves, exercise equipment, grills, refrigerators and freezers (doors removed), dish washers and air conditioners Please refrain from removing Freon, as the Watertown Regional Landfill will handle its removal.

  • Non-Metal Pile — This is limited to rolled carpet, furniture, hot tubs, mattresses and large electronics (TVs, computers, scanners, etc.)

All metals deposited in the ‘metal pile’ will be recycled.

Dispose of cardboard, construction rubble, and other items not allowed on your boulevard during City Wide Clean-up at the Watertown Landfill's Free Self-Haul Event set for April 22-May 3. See a list of these prohibited items at watertownsd.us/citywidecleanup.

The City expresses its gratitude to the Watertown Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department and Street Maintenance, Airport and Solid Waste divisions of the Public Works Department for their efforts in organizing this event.
