Payne named CEO of The Arc of Palm Beach County

The Arc of Palm Beach County has appointed nonprofit veteran Pamela M. Payne as its new CEO. Payne has more than 40 years of experience in fundraising, collaborative partnerships, and fiscal responsibility. Most recently, Payne was the CEO of The Homeless Coalition of Palm Beach County from 2020 to 2023. The Arc of Palm Beach County works to change the conversation around disabilities by defying definitions, inspiring possibilities, and improving the lives of the people they serve, their families, and the community.

Longtime Palm Tran employee elevated to head of HR

Betty Garrett is Palm Tran’s newly appointed executive chief of human resources. Garrett has been with Palm Tran since 2002 and has held a number of administrative and finance positions prior to joining Palm Tran Human Resources in February 2020. She will oversee all functions of Palm Tran’s human resources section including recruitment and compensation, compliance and benefits and organizational development.

BoardroomPR welcomes back Jessica Shein

BoardroomPR, one of Florida’s largest public relations and integrated marketing agencies, announced that Jessica Shein has rejoined the firm as an account director. Shein, who previously worked at BoardroomPR as an account executive from 2012-2017, specializes in media relations, crisis communications, communications strategy, and public affairs and public policy matters. BoardroomPR has offices in Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, Orlando, West Palm Beach, Naples and Miami.

Realtime Home Watch earns accreditation for 6th time

Based in Jupiter, Realtime Home Watch has earned accreditation from the National Home Watch Association for the sixth year. President and CEO Beth White is a working owner, overseeing a staff of 22 employees. Her property management experience is extensive; she has had 33 years at the executive and national footprint level.

Maybeck joins Comcast in Florida

Based in West Palm Beach, Jackie Guerry Maybeck has joined the company's Florida Region senior leadership team as vice president of sales and marketing. She will oversee the direct sales department, Xfinity retail stores, and the Xfinity Communities account representatives that serve and support customers living in communities throughout the Florida Region.

Gardens mayor named vice chair on transportation council

Palm Beach Gardens Mayor Chelsea Reed has been chosen as vice chair of the Southeast Florida Transportation Council as well as to serve on the executive committee of the Florida Metropolitan Planning Organization. Locally she serves as chair of the Transportation Planning Agency and as chair of the Transportation Disadvantaged Local Coordinating Board.

Freedom Waters bolsters board of directors, staff

Freedom Waters Foundation recently added Scott Ward and Thomas Dammrich to their board of directors. Both have known and followed the work of Freedom Waters Foundation since its inception in March 2006 and are excited to be part of the team. In addition, Freedom Waters Foundation also added staff members Michael Gaff as the organization’s director of development, and Mary Conejo as the new bookkeeper/HR coordinator. Freedom Waters Foundation is a 17-year-old non-profit organization that enhances lives of individuals with special needs and veterans by providing therapeutic boating experiences.

Mizner Country Club in Delray appoints COO

Mizner Country Club has announced that Mark Bado has joined the club as its new general manager and chief operating officer. Bado will oversee all club activities and day-to-day operations. He joins Mizner Country Club from the highly regarded Houston Country Club in Houston, Texas. Mizner Country Club is one of Delray's premier country club communities, comprising over 470 classic Mediterranean-architecture luxury homes.
