Paige Spiranac has become one of the biggest names in golf on social media.

The former collegiate golfer played professionally for a short period, before turning her attention to the media world.

Spiranac, who played at the University of Arizona and San Diego State, is now one of the sport’s most-popular figures. She has more than 3 million followers on Instagram, several hundred thousand followers on Twitter and a growing podcast.

The social media popularity has led to some cool opportunities. Back in 2018, Spiranac got to pose for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue.

Spiranac, now 28, shared her heartfelt reaction to the magazine including her.

“I’ve been a fan for such a long time and I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would get the opportunity to be a part of the SI Swimsuit family. I get chills every time I think about it. So yes, it’s still that hard to believe and I’m still in disbelief!” she told SI Swim.

While Spiranac might come across as extremely confident, she hasn’t always been that way. She opened up to SI Swim about her struggles growing up.

“I had a lot of health issues growing up,” Paige said. “On top of the hair condition, I had asthma and bad social anxiety. I was one weird little kid. So I know how it feels to be an outsider, how it feels to be bullied, to have no friends, to be that person no one wanted around.”

It’s great to see what Paige has become now. She’s confident both on and off the course.
