It looks like Aaron Rodgers isn’t the only star the Green Bay Packers are getting good news about today. There’s been some encouraging developments involving Davante Adams as well.

On Friday, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that the Packers and Adams had broken off negotiations on a possible contract extension, with “no current plans to resume them.” Well, that was before Adams’ quarterback and close friend was set to return to Green Bay.

Now that Rodgers is reportedly coming back under a reworked contract, Adams is apparently willing to reopen contract talks, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

A four-time Pro Bowler, Adams is in the final year of a four-year, $58 million contract. He turns 29 in December and is entering his eighth NFL season.

In 2020, Adams posted a career-high 115 catches and 18 receiving touchdowns, gaining 1,374 receiving yards and earning his first All-Pro honor in the process.

With Rodgers back in the fold for 2021, it increases the Packers’ chances of working something out with Adams. One has to think that Adams being around long-term will only help the odds of Rodgers staying in Green Bay beyond this season.

Maybe this won’t be their “Last Dance” after all? We’ll have to wait and see.
