The Green Bay Packers signed veteran linebacker De’Vondre Campbell as expected today, releasing running back Mike Weber in the process.

Weber, who was originally a seventh-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys in 2019, signed with the Packers’ practice squad last November. He was elevated from the practice squad in Weeks 11 and 12, but did not play in either game.

Green Bay signed Weber to a futures deal following the season. Now, he’ll have to look for another shot elsewhere.

The Packers announced Campbell’s signing and Weber’s release in the same transaction this afternoon.

Campbell, who is heading into his sixth season, spent last year with the Arizona Cardinals after four years with the Atlanta Falcons.

The University of Minnesota product bagged 99 tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble in 16 starts with Arizona and will look to provide critical depth in the middle of the Green Bay defense.
