Former Ozark star Julia Garner has lined up her next leading movie role.

The three-time Primetime Emmy Award winner will be teaming up with The Invisible Man director Leigh Whannell for his adaptation of Wolf Man, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Garner will star with The Crowded Room's Christopher Abbott – who replaced Ryan Gosling – as a couple whose home comes under attack from the infamous supernatural predator known as the Wolf Man.

The project is a reunion for Garner and Abbott after they previously worked together on the 2011 horror movie Martha Marcy May Marlene.

This adaptation of the classic Universe Monsters character The Wolf Man has been written by director Whannell and wife Corbett Tuck, with Dumb Money's Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo.

Powerhouse production studio Blumhouse is behind this version of Wolf Man, having previously collaborated with Whannell on the Insidious series and 2020's The Invisible Man.

Garner had a career-defining TV hit last year with the Netflix series Inventing Anna, where she played convicted scammer Anna Delvey. She had previously worked with the streamer on Ozark.

Her film roles include the 2019 drama The Assistant, in which she starred with Succession's Matthew Macfadyen, and thriller The Royal Hotel opposite Jessica Henwick.

Universal's latest attempt to reboot The Wolf Man comes after multiple efforts to revive the character, first as part of a scrapped Dark Universe of horror characters that would have starred Dwayne Johnson.

Later, I Know This Much is True director Derek Cianfrance was briefly attached to a Wolf Man reboot before producer Jason Blum and Leigh Whannell came on board.

Wolf Man is scheduled for an October 25, 2024 release date, but this may be changed due to the recent actors' strike.
