Owen Allen, Southlake Carroll’s all-time leading rusher, commits to Air Force

Southlake Carroll star running back Owen Allen announced his commitment to play football at Air Force.

Allen finished his career as one of the best running backs in state history. He is Carroll’s all-time leading rusher with 7,700 yards and 120 touchdowns.

The District 4-6A MVP and Landry award finalist wrapped up his senior year with over 2,100 yards rushing and a career-high 37 touchdowns.

In 53 career games, Allen went over 100 yards 42 times and over 200 yards 10 times.

Allen scored at least one touchdown in 48 games and had multiple scores in 39 games. Twice this season, Allen scored five touchdowns.

Allen set career highs in yards rushing, touchdowns and yards per carry in all four seasons. As a freshman he rushed for 1,266 yards and 23 touchdowns.

Allen started this season as the No. 3 ranked area player in the Top 100. The Dragons went 13-1 this season and 52-5 in four years with a trip to the state championship game during the 2020 season.
