Over the hump: Wednesday's MetroWest and Milford-area Fantastic Five high school athletes

What a Wednesday. These Fantastic Five (plus one) MetroWest and Milford-area high school athletes got their teams over the hump.

They excelled all over the diamond, courts and on the track.

Without further ado, Wednesday's MetroWest and Milford area Fantastic Five (plus one):

KELSEY BLANCHETTE, Lincoln-Sudbury softball

She struck out 11 with just two walks and three hits in a 4-2 win over Bedford. The UMass commit was also 2-for-4 with an RBI and scored a run for the Warriors. L-S' Eliana Krasnow launched an RBI triple and scored a run. Ashleigh Lent (two walks) and Natalie Gaeta each had a hit and scored a run.

CAROLINE COSGROVE & LINDSAY HADDAD, Holliston girls tennis

The Panthers top two players delivered straight-set wins to help Holliston beat Norton 4-0. Cosgrove, a freshman, prevailed 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles, while senior captain Lindsay Haddad won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2. Holliston's (3-2, 3-2 Tri-Valley League) No. 1 doubles team of Ellie Winchenbach and Bridget Doherty won 6-1, 6-0.

MOLLY RAND, Millis softball

She launched a three-run homer and totaled five RBIs in an 11-8 win over Ashland. Millis' Zoe Sparks also hit a two-run homer.

RILEY O'SULIVAN, Hudson baseball

He scored and delivered the only run in the Hawks' 1-0 victory over Nipmuc. O'Sullivan homered in the fifth inning to ensure the victory. Hudson starter Anthony Moura threw a complete game, allowing just three hits with three strikeouts. Dylan Muccini struck out eight for Nipmuc (4-3).

NICK PEDROLI, Hopkinton baseball

He was 3-for-4 and hit a grand slam and a double, driving in five runs and scoring two for the Hillers. Hopkinton's Lucas Hodne had three hits and an RBI, while Charlie Petruney drove in two runs and Ruff had an RBI. Holliston starter Derek Hatherley threw five innings and didn't allow an earned run, striking out six. Bellingham's Joey Corsi had two hits and two RBIs, while Tyler Ladoceur homered among his two hits. Colin Sherman also had two hits and scored a run for Bellingham.

AVA VANBUSKIRK, Marlborough girls track & field

She won the 100, 200, long jump and triple jump for the Panthers, but Marlborough fell 89-56 against Fitchburg.

LINCOLN-SUDBURY 14, Bedford 3 (5): Matt Mahoney was 3-for-3 with three RBIs and scored two runs for the Warriors (5-3). L-S senior Jake Haarde also drove in three runs with two hits. Connor Hammond had two hits, two RBIs and scored two runs for L-S, while Cooper Tarantino doubled among his two hits, scored twice and drove in a run.

WELLESLEY 3, Framingham 2 (8): Ryan McCausland delivered an extra innings win 3-2 over Framingham with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth. Wellesley pitcher CJ Hartigan threw two innings of scoreless relief to earn the win for the Raiders (6-2, 4-1 Bay State conference)

ASHLAND 10, Millis 0: Chris Bratica went 2-for-2 with a grand slam and four RBIs for the Clockers, while Oliver Lareau homered and walked twice. Ashland's Nolan Soderberg struck out nine over five innings to earn the win.

Three of a kind: Aces will lead Holliston baseball on and off the mound

HOLLISTON 9, Norton 1: Ty Bosselman (two RBI) and Jayden Hayes (RBI) each tripled for the Panthers. Teddy Peters was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. he threw four innings, allowing just three hits with no earned runs. Holliston's Brad Andreoala stole three bases after two hits, had an RBI and scored twice.

FRANKLIN 10, Canton 1: Michael Davide doubled twice and drove in two runs for the Panthers. Franklin's Rex Cinelli had two RBIs, while Henry DiGiorgio (two hits), Lukas Phillip (double, two runs) and Dominic Caccavelli (run) each drove in a run. Matt Miller earned the win after throwing six innings allowing just five hits and two walks with four strikeouts.

HOPEDALE 6, Douglas 2: Brayden Lewis (triple, two runs), Nathan Montville (double, triple, two RBIs) and Will Adamski (RBI, run) each had two hits for the Raiders (7-2).

MARLBOROUGH 18, Westborough 10: Michael Benway doubled twice among his three hits, drove in four runs and scored three times for the Panthers. Marlborough's Ryan Dillon was 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs, scoring three runs. Jack Cincotta (three RBIs, two runs), D Romano (double, three RBIs), L Ferraras (double, two RBIs) and S Rowe (RBI, two runs) each collected two hits for the Panthers. Andy Cerniglia, Andrew Pisciotta and Justin McCafferty each had two hits for the Rangers (3-4).

BAY PATH 6, AMSA 2: Anthony Skilling was 2-for-3 with a run for the Eagles (3-2, 2-1 Colonial)

Softball

HOPKINTON 6, Bellingham 2: Jacobi Houston struck out seven for the Blackhawks (2-5) and added a single.

WESTFORD ACADEMY 4, Wayland 1: Kelsey Kaufman doubled for the Warriors (1-2).

AMSA 11, Bay Path 0: Abigail Asman and Sophia Hammel hit home runs, and Ava McLeod struck out six while scattering five hits for the Eagles (5-1, 2-0 Colonial).

MONTY TECH 7, Blackstone Valley Tech 3: Lyndsey Kay hit a solo home run for  the Beavers (3-4, 2-1 Colonial).

HOPEDALE 13, Douglas 1: Delaney Vaillette went 2 for 3 with two RBIs and two runs, Kelsey Evans was 3 for 3 with an RBI and a run, and Phoebe Carroll drove in three runs for the Blue Raiders (7-0, 4-0 Dual Valley).

NIPMUC 14, Whitinsville Christian 1 (5): Kira DeBaggis was 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs, Savannah Carr fired one-hit ball while striking out 10, and Kate Julian went 3-for-3 with a run and RBI for the Warriors (7-0, 4-0 Dual Valley).

WESTBOROUGH 11, Shepherd Hill 10: Penelope Desjardins (three hits, three runs) and Hannah Rice (two hits) each drove in four runs for the Rangers (3-5).

MARLBORUGH 5, Algonquin 2: Erin Seder went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a run, and Catherine Seay was 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and a run for the Panthers (5-3, 2-3 Mid-Wach B). Emily Ruiz and Hannah Dunleavy had two hits each for the Titans (2-4, 1-3).

Boys lacrosse

MEDWAY 7, Ashland 6: Gavin Shippos accounted for three points with two goals and an assist for the Mustangs (5-2, 4-2 TVL). Medway's Matt Plante scored twice, while Justin Hammer saved 12 shots.

Girls lacrosse

ASHLAND 18, Medway 9: Anna Magennis put away six goals with two assists for the Clockers (6-2, 4-2 TVL). Ashland's Paige Tripp delivered five assists with a goal, while Julia Schreibier (two assists) and Morgan Dubanowitz (assist) each collected a hat trick. Payten trip (assist) and Lili Vittie put away two goals each for the CLockers, and Maggie Magennis scored once.

AMSA 19, Hudson 7: Maeve Powers and Emma O'Malley tallied four goals each for the Eagles (4-2).

Boys volleyball

KEEFE TECH 3, Worcester 0: John Loja had a double-double with 13 assists and 10 digs for the Broncos (9-1), while C.J. Sok (three digs, three blocks) and Mateus Silva (six digs) each put down seven kills in a 25-17, 25-14, 25-8 win.

Girls track & field

SHREWSBURY 88, Westborough 57: Al Regnier won the triple jump and 200 for the Rangers (0-2, 0-2 Mid-Wach A).
