Over 27,000 pounds of DiGiorno frozen pizza recalled over allergy concerns

It’s not delivery, it’s mislabeled.

More than 27,000 pounds of DiGiorno frozen pizzas have been recalled by Nestlé because the individual boxes were mislabeled and could be unintentionally consumed by people with allergies.

The company said 26-ounce boxes were labeled Crispy Pan Crust Pepperoni Pizza despite having Three Meat Crispy Pan Crust Pizza inside. That pizza has soy protein, whereas the pepperoni pizza does not, and could be harmful to someone with soy allergies.

Nestlé said the pizzas were still safe to consume if eaters do not have soy allergies, but advised people to throw them out or return them for a replacement out of an abundance of caution, according to CNN Business.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture said the pizzas were distributed around the country but have a manufacturing date of June 30, 2021 and a “best by” date of March 2022.
