Orrville Salvation Army 28th annual Bob 'Punch' Maiwurm Memorial Golf Scramble coming up
The Salvation Army Orrville-Maiwurm Service Center will hold the 28th annual Bob "Punch" Maiwurm Memorial Golf Scramble on Saturday, May 18, at Riceland Golf Course.
Check-in and breakfast will be held 7-7:45 a.m. followed by a shot gun start at 8 a.m.
Registration is $75 per person or $300 for a four-person team and includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, breakfast, and lunch.
Participants will have the chance to compete for team prizes, with first place receiving a $400 cash prize, a $200 cash prize to the runners-up and third place winning a free round of golf provided by Riceland Golf Course.
Participants can purchase mulligans, enter a 50/50 raffle sponsored by Brown's Furniture and vie for hole contest prizes. There will be a grand prize drawing for a $400 gift certificate to Brown's Furniture.
The fundraiser pays tribute to the local Salvation Army's founder and namesake, Bob “Punch” Maiwurm. A small business owner with a servant’s heart, Maiwurm kept food and medicine in the basement of his clothing store to aid those who were in need.
