Oregon teacher admits sexually abusing girl, paying her for oral sex: feds
A former Oregon teacher pleaded guilty to a sex trafficking charge this week after authorities said he molested a 15-year-old girl, paid her for oral sex and recorded the abuse with his cell phone.
William Hamann, 38, met the victim on social media and arranged at least four meetings with her in 2018 and 2019, according to prosecutors. He was busted on July 26, 2019, after he went to meet her a fourth time and was met by federal agents.
The accused perv used to teach at an elementary school in Oregon, but the victim was not his student, authorities said.
Hamann was originally charged with sexual exploitation and trafficking of a child, possession of child pornography, and attempted sex trafficking of a child. But he accepted a deal with prosecutors and pleaded guilty Tuesday to one count of sex trafficking of a child.
Federal prosecutors said they will recommend a sentence of 13 years in prison when he’s sentenced in March.
They also want him to serve that term after a proposed state sentence of one year and eight months. Hamann faces multiple related charges in Lane County, including sodomy and sex abuse.
As part of the agreement, the former teacher would also pay restitution to his victim. The amount has not been disclosed.
