Only Murders in the Building Season 4: Everything We Know About Casting, Release Date, L.A. Move and More
It’s official: Charles, Oliver and Mabel are headed west for Season 4 of Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building.
In a recent interview with Deadline, Craig Erwich, who oversees ABC, Freeform and Hulu, confirmed that the New York City-based comedy will relocate to California for at least part of Season 4.

“I’m very excited to see Steve [Martin], Martin [Short] and Selena [Gomez] take a little break from the apartment building and come to Los Angeles,” Erwich said. “So in the same way that [series co-creator] John Hoffman used the canvas of Broadway to tell what I think was one of the most unique seasons you’ve ever seen, the same unique Only Murders take will be applied to Los Angeles.”
In October, Hoffman addressed the possibility of relocating the show to Los Angeles in an interview with TVLine. “I love New York — the characters, the richness, the depth is endless — and it’s a New York show,” he said at the time. “But I don’t want to be afraid of things that make you go, ‘What?’ ‘Where are we?’ ‘Where are they now?’ I think you have to do that so it doesn’t feel too insular.
“[The Arconia] is our apartment building, and much like how we want to get out and be in New York as much as possible, I think you also have to remember this trio and the potential for whatever would be happening in their lives that might lead them to go away for some reason,” he explained. But he assured us that the Arconia will always be a part of the show, adding: “It’s our building! I love it so, and we have devotion to it in every way.”

How did OMITB Season 3 end?
In Only Murders in the Building‘s Season 3 finale, Donna and Cliff DeMeo were arrested for the murder of Paul Rudd’s Ben Glenroy, the cast and crew gathered at Oliver’s apartment for his second annual Death Rattle afterparty.
There, Mabel received an invitation from her director boyfriend Tobert (played by recurring guest star Jesse Williams) to accompany him to California. Oliver, meanwhile, encouraged his girlfriend Loretta (fellow recurring guest star Meryl Streep) to move out west to be with her formerly estranged son Dickie.
Then there was Charles, who was targeted by a killer. Alas, a bullet meant for TV’s Brazzos took out his longtime stunt double Sazz Pataki (who was played since Season 1 by Jane Lynch).
Suffice it to say, he’ll probably want to vacate the Arconia for a while.
What’s the plot of OMITB Season 4?
Only Murders in the Building Season 4 will be set in New York and Los Angeles, and inevitably will involve the investigation into who shot and killed Sazz Pataki.

Who’s returning for OMITB Season 4?
Returning for Only Murders in the Building Season 4 are series regulars Steve Martin (Charles Haden Savage), Martin Short (Oliver Putnam) and Selena Gomez (Mabel Mora). They’ll be joined by returning guest star Meryl Streep (Loretta Durkin).
Jane Lynch (murder victim Sazz Pataki) is also expected to have a significant presence in Season 4.

Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives) has joined Only Murders in the Building Season 4. According to Hulu, she will play “a character that becomes integral to the twist and turns of this season’s investigation.”
Eugene Levy Joins OMITB Season 4
