Oneida Service Area re-opens on New York State Thruway. This is what's available there

The Oneida Service Area on the eastbound New York State Thruway has re-opened, the thruway authority announced Wednesday.

It’s located in Westmoreland, between eastbound exits 33 (Verona-Rome) and 32 (Westmoreland-Rome).

The plaza includes a Burger King, Starbucks drive-thru, Applegreen C-Store and a Taste NY store with food and drinks. Panera Bread will be opening soon.

The service area also offers outdoor seating, a dog-walking area and a private nursing area, as well as restrooms and gas pumps.

It will at some point also include a digital tourism kiosk and four, level 3 high-speed electric vehicle chargers.

It’s the thirteenth new service plaza to open on the Thruway as part of a $450 million public-private project using private investment only to redevelop and modernize all 27 service areas through a partnership with Empire State Thruway Partners.

The Schuyler, Seneca, Pembroke, New Baltimore, Clarence, Ardsley, Plattekill, Clifton Springs, Iroquois, Indian Castle, Chittenango and Junius Ponds service areas have also re-opened.
