One person seriously injured in Peoria shooting, police say

A man was hospitalized with serious injuries late Wednesday night following a shooting in central Peoria north of Interstate 74.

The Peoria Police Department said that at 11:15 p.m., they received a ShotSpotter alert of 38 shots fired in the 800 block of West Thrush Avenue. As they were traveling to the scene, officers were informed that a man was being sent to a local hospital with multiple gunshot wounds after he was shot inside a residence on Thrush.

At the scene, officers were able to find multiple shell casings outside the home.

An investigation began into the shooting, with members of PPD's criminal investigations division and crime scene and patrol units leading the way. As of Thursday morning, no suspect information has been released.
