One-Off GT3-Powered Porsche 996 Classic Club Coupe Sells for $1.2 Million at Auction
The Porsche 911 Classic Club Coupe is arguably the coolest 996 in existence. It's a one-off creation built in a collaboration between Porsche Classic and the Porsche Club of America, with unique styling and the drivetrain from a 996 GT3. It just sold at auction for a staggering $1.2 million, easily making it the most valuable 996 in existence.
The car, originally revealed in 2022, was one of 75 cars that went up for auction at Porsche's 75th anniversary sale event held by Broad Arrow auctions at the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta last weekend.
The GT3 drivetrain in the Classic Club Coupe was taken from a 996.2 GT3—the version sold here in America. It makes 381 hp and can rev to 8000 rpm. The car also gets its braking and suspension systems from the GT3.
The Classic Club Coupe is easily identified by its Paint to Sample Sport grey metallic paint, racing stripes, unique front bumper, ducktail spoiler, and forged Fuchs five-spoke wheels. Inside you'll find unique Pepita pattern black and Slate grey leather on the the seats and other pieces of the cabin.
This isn't the first time we've seen a one-off from Porsche sell for big money. A new 911 GTS inspired by Sally Carrera, the character from Pixar's Cars franchise, sold for an incredible $3.6 million at auction in 2022.
