Lamborghini on Friday revealed a one-off Huracán Sterrato called the Opera Unica, sporting a special paint job meant to celebrate the brand's 60th anniversary.

The Italian supercar company describes the Opera Unica as a "one-off piece of art." Mechanically it's unchanged from the normal Sterrato, which means a high-riding mid-engine V-10-powered supercar with flared arches and off-road tires. The big highlight is the exterior color, which was hand-painted over 370 hours using three colors inspired by the "marine-blue landscapes and rich colors of Sardinia." The colors include Blu Amnis, Blu Grifo, and Blue Fedra.

Other parts of the exterior, including the 19-inch wheels, fender arches, fog light housings, roof, and front and rear splitters are finished in matte black. The cabin is covered in Blu Delphinus leather, while the dashboard wears specially dyed Alcantara in the same color. The steering wheel features both leather and Alcantara. The starter button cover wears the same hand-painted tri-paint as the exterior.

“The Huracán Sterrato was born from challenging the expected, delivering a super sports car that goes beyond convention, CEO Stephan Winkelmann said in a statement. "The one-off Huracán Sterrato Opera Unica takes this to another level, and in Lamborghini tradition, draws attention and asks questions of it as an art form. Lamborghini is always touched by the beauty and colors of Sardinia, and this is the perfect opportunity to experiment with a new paint process, explore the possibilities of our Ad Personam personalization, and then present this special Sterrato to our clients and guests in the environment that inspired the blue crystal effect.”

Lamborghini says the Opera Unica will be displayed at the Lamborghini Lounge in Porto Cervo, Italy until September 10. It's unclear what it plans to do with the car after that, though we expect it'll occupy a spot in the company's museum for the foreseeable future, considering its significance.
