The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office on Tuesday identified the man who fell to his death off a cliff a day earlier.

Jerardo Huitzil, 25, was pronounced dead at the base of a cliff in the Palos Verdes Estates area around 4:30 a.m. Monday, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Three other people who were hiking also fell but survived the almost 300-foot drop.

One of the survivors, 25-year-old Vincent Avila, told NBC Los Angeles that the four friends went to the cliffs Sunday night to go hiking and hang out. When one of them wandered off to go to the bathroom, she slipped and tumbled down. That’s when the other three went out to find her and proceeded to all fall.

Avila, who suffered broken ribs and minor kidney damage, said he was able to climb back up from the beach and get help.

The conditions of the two women is unclear.

Investigators said there is no evidence of any foul play.
