One dead after single-vehicle crash in Polk County on Wednesday

One man was found dead after a single-vehicle crash in Polk County Wednesday afternoon.

According to a news release from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, officers were notified of the crash south of N.W. 126th Avenue around 2:30 p.m.

A preliminary investigation found that the motorist, driving a white GMC Yukon, was traveling westbound on N.W. 126th Avenue, left the roadway, entered a ditch and went through a fence before coming to a stop in an adjacent field.

The driver was pronounced dead on the scene. The identity of the driver has not yet been released to the public, though officers say updates will be sent as they become available. The accident remains under investigation.
