If you spent the weekend learning all about Arnold Schwarzenegger's career—you're definitely not the only one. Arnold is a three-part docuseries that premiered on June 7 in Netflix and documents the Terminator's rise in fame and politics.
Arnold, 75, is known for many things—including his body building career, as the unofficial king of action franchises (particularly the Terminator series), and his segue from acting into politics as the governor of California from 2003 to 2011. Now, he's returned to the big screen with Terminator sequels—and the small screen with his latest Netflix docuseries.
As someone with a name so recognizable, you might be wondering about Arnold's family—especially his son, Joseph, who is talked about in detail in the show. Here's everything to know about his five children, and ex-wife, Maria Shriver.
Maria Shriver
Maria Shriver, 67, and Arnold Schwarzenegger got married in 1986 after nine years of dating. Shriver is the daughter of Eunice Kennedy, who was the sister of former president John F. Kennedy. She is an award-winning journalist and authored a meditation book I've Been Thinking... , which went on to be a New York Times best seller.

The former First Lady of California also founded The Women's Alzheimer's Movement, which aims to raise awareness for increased risk of Alzheimer's in women. Shriver runs her own online newsletter called The Sunday Paper, which describes itself as the "go-to source for Insight, Inspiration, and Information."
Shriver separated from Arnold in 2011, following reports that he had an affair. The couple attended counseling together, per US Weekly, but eventually divorced in 2021. Today, the couple is reportedly in a good place and are "able to focus on what matters most to them—their children," per US Weekly.
Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt, 33.
Katherine in the eldest child of Arnold and Maria, and she's currently married to Chris Pratt. The pair met at church, and got married in 2019. They currently have two children together: daughters Lyla, 2, and Eloise, 1.
Katherine has no plans of following in her family's political footsteps, and told PEOPLE in 2016 that she has no interest in politics. "I think if you grow up in it, you either love it or you're like, 'No thank you!'" She said. The eldest Schwarzenegger has, however, written several books including the children's book Maverick and Me, and The Gift of Forgiveness.
Oh, and fun fact: she was born on December 13, 1989, which means she has the exact same birthday as Taylor Swift.
Christina Schwarzenegger, 31.
Christina Schwarzenegger attended Georgetown University (her mother's alma mater) and edited at Goop, Gwyneth Paltrow's lifestyle publication for several years afterward, per PEOPLE.
In 2018, she co-produced the Netflix documentary Take Your Pills, with her mother. It detailed Christina's Adderall addiction and the societal pressures that lead to drug addiction. Of her siblings, Christina seems the most private and does not have a findable Instagram account.
Patrick Schwarzenegger, 29.
Patrick Schwarzenegger, 29, is a budding actor and has appeared in Netflix's Moxie and the true crime series The Staircase on Max. He briefly dated Miley Cyrus in 2014–2015, and has been dating model Abby Champion for a few years.
Patrick attended USC, and is very active on Twitter, and runs a wellness brand, Mosh, with his mother.
Christopher Schwarzenegger, 25.
Of the Schwarzenegger sibs, Christopher lays pretty low. He has a private Instagram, and graduated from University of Michigan in 2020. According to his LinkedIn profile, he currently lives in Los Angeles.
According to a post Arnold made for his 24th birthday, Christopher seems to take after his dad on the fitness front. He's participated in weightlifting, boxing, and cycling classes.
Joseph Baena, 25.
Joseph is the son of Arnold Schwarzenegger, but his mother is Mildred Patricia Baena, a longtime housekeeper of the Schwarzenegger's, per PEOPLE. Arnold's affair with Mildred is detailed in Arnold.
"It was wrong what I did. But I don’t want to make Joseph feel that he is not welcomed in this world—because he is very much welcomed in this world," Arnold said in the documentary. "I love him and he has turned out to be an extraordinary young man."
Today, Joseph often hits the gym with his dad, and is following in his footsteps as a budding bodybuilder and actor. He's appeared in the film Bully High and has five other upcoming projects, per IMDb, including the film Encounters.
