‘Once-in-a-lifetime’ property in Texas is drive-in and speakeasy in one. Take a look
Drive-in theaters – they’re not something you see on an everyday basis.
Doc’s Drive-In, right outside the Austin, Texas area, has a retro feel that will make anyone feel nostalgic about the time when these theaters were wildly popular. And it’s now on the real estate market for $3.99 million.
“Owners Chris and Sarah Denny opened the gates to Doc’s Drive-In Theatre in 2018,” the theater’s website says. “They took a chance on a shared dream and spent incredible time and effort perfecting the systems and layout that would provide unparalleled entertainment to audiences all over central Texas.
“Inspired by the drive-in movie theater experience at the height of drive-in popularity in the 1950s and 1960s, Chris and Sarah decided that, in the spirit of Austin’s free-thinking culture, they would upgrade their drive-in to include so much more.”
The theater is on a 7.9-acre lot and comes with “three fully furnished movie-themed casitas” and a private speakeasy club.
“The sale of this property includes everything on site, including elements such as commercial kitchen, bar, STR income from casitas, and all proprietary elements and income of business to be disclosed to inquiring buyers,” the listing on Douglas Elliman says. “Potential to grow and improve upon existing businesses or redevelop entirely.”
Doc’s was also profiled by CultureMap Austin.
The listing is held by Michael Reisor and Ezra Cruz of Douglas Elliman.
