'Neighbor From Hell' on Trial for 'Terrorizing' Residents

Residents of a Miami neighborhood claim that neighbor Mitchell Igelko has been terrorizing them for years, but it wasn't until recently that they were able to provide evidence of his misdeeds (see video below). Local resident Francisco Torres was compelled to install a $70,000 video surveillance system after Igelko allegedly began harassing him, even threatening his life. Torres was able to supply video that shows Igelko throwing eggs and nails at his home.

"He mentioned before that he has a contract on my head," Torres said of his neighbor. "And this is what I want to say because eventually something is going to happen to me,"

Igelko was arrested in October and charged on two counts of criminal mischief and two counts of stalking Torres, but he never showed up in court. His lawyer claimed that Igelko was recovering from pneumonia and provided a doctor's note to back that up, but video purportedly captured by Torres that same day suggests that Igelko was fit enough to run errands and do yard work. The judge granted Igelko a delay anyway. Igelko's lawyer told ABC News that his client is making a good faith attempt at making peace by trying to move out of the neighborhood, and calls Igelko's effort "heroic."
